1972 Suzuki LJ20This 1972 LJ20 is tiny 4×4 equipped with an equally tiny 360 CC two stroke, two cylinder. Predecessor to the Samurai, these are known to be equally capable off road, if even slower.
Suzuki LJ20 info:
The LJ was updated in May 1972 and renamed the LJ20. The grille bars were changed from horizontal to vertical for the LJ20. The engine was replaced with an updated, water-cooled unit (the L50), and its 28 PS (21 kW) enabled the LJ to reach 80 km/h (50 mph). A special version with the spare tire mounted behind the passenger seat allowed for two small rear seats, facing each other. The introduction of left hand drive signaled Suzuki’s worldwide ambitions for the truck. The Hard Top (Van) was also introduced when the LJ20 arrived, equipped with smaller, 15 inch wheels.(I do have a nice one for sale as well to be listed soon) Suzuki did not export them to the USA, a company called International Equipment Co. imported them. Export Jimnys had the spare tire mounted on the outside, as Kei regulations on length did not apply.
vehicle specifications: its 51 inches wide, 1300 pounds
This LJ20 is a project. It does not move under its own power. The interior is in poor condition, the paint is bad, and the tires are old and one is mismatched. The windshield frame is not bolted on tight, the seats are not bolted in and are not original to the car. Assume every piece of rubber and hose is rotten, used, and in need of replacement. This is a car that has been sitting in the dry mid west for years.
